An important thing I would like to note about my experiment is that I did it entirely during the pandemic. Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly all university labs and regulated research institutions were shut down and not available for student use. I emailed hundreds of professors during the summer but only got rejections saying the labs were off-limits. However, a local clinic lab took interest in my research and wanted to support my curiosity and dedication to this project. The clinic lab contained a workstation with an autoclave and a centrifuge, but that was it. I bought all of the other materials for the experiment and essentially had to build the lab from the ground up. From 7-11 pm every day for several weeks I would work in the lab conducting this experiment.
